The Twickenham Tup, Twickenham

How this place has a rating of 6.5/10 on the 5th April 2009 is anyones guess.

My friends and I have been drinking at the pubs in and around Twickenham for years and decided to try the Tup one more time on Friday 27th March.

What a dissapointment...

The place was near empty, the tables were dirty, the two girls 'working' behind the bar were more interested in being chatted up by the manager than serving beer. When we asked the manager if we could be served he said 'I own this place, I'm the manager, I'll do what I want'. When he eventually came and served us (the girls just stood about talking) he said 'You aussies should know better than to hurry me up' What is that guy on??? Needless to say we didn't stay. We carried on and spent a small fortune in other Twickenham pubs and the Tup won't be getting any of our money in the future.

If you're ever tempted to try the Tup - DON'T! Keep walking and find somewhere better. There are a couple more pubs just down the road, a couple by the river and more in Twickenham itself. The sooner the Tup management changes and they revamp the place, the better.

For the record we were mainly English but had a South African and a New Zealander with us. But regardless if we were 'Aussies' what the heck is that guy on???
