The Sportsman 'Time Well Spent', Mogador

Ok, so I'm a bit late with this .... but a few weeks ago, before the snow, me and my beautiful girl decided to catch the last 'rays' of sun (Ok a bit poetic but ....) and drive out to check this pub out. We arrived and discovered it didn't open until midday (no we're not alcoholics !!! ...) . So we put on our walking boots and set out for walk. It was lovely and peaceful. Having now earned our glass of wine. We walked in and were instantly presented with the warmest of welcomes, immediately we felt at home , so much so that we decided to have lunch as well!! The food was excellent, well presented, and served, including an unasked for jug of iced water (nice professional touch!), good selection of real ales. The atmosphere was so nice we ended up staying a couple of hours!! So why an 8, well I think it has the potential to get crowded and busy , which of course is good, but may lose that little bit of the charm we experienced, you can hear the M25/A217 when outside and it is so off the beaten track that you have to drive. But these are only minor observations. Highly recommended and yes we would definitely go again and again and again ........... (you get the gist!) : )
