Woolpack Hotel, Wainfleet

I agree with philg7. The place could do with a decorate/clean.

A group of us stayed at the Woolpack for the weekend. I can, personally, cope with "tired" decor of some pub B&Bs, but not with basic things missing from the rooms. E.g. no cups (despite having a kettle!), or no tea/coffee, or not enough towels, or no toilet rolls, or no bath mat or broken fittings, sockets hanging off walls. Pretty basic stuff!! most easily remidied by someone checking the rooms before guests arrived. Several rooms had TWO sets of bunk beds in them, despite being described as "twin rooms".

No one told us the breakfast times and no one asked us what we wanted to eat! There was no fruit juice or cereals.I arrived at breakfast, sat down and then had a plate of "full English" plonked down in front of me - no one asked what I would like (which was not that!). Some folk didn't get their food until they had gone into the kitchen to ask, having already waited 25 mins for someone to come out. Again, we had to ask for some tea, more hot water, tea spoons and there wern't enough cups out in the breakfast room. Bit like Fawlty Towers.

Strangest thing was that no one acknowledged our existence at the place. Normallly, at such a place, the landlord/lady would at least chat to you, ask what you would like to eat, ask if rooms OK or something, or just general chitchat. Nothing. It seemed as if they had absolutely no interest in folk staying staying there.

The loud music/Karaoke from the bar and smokers shouting/swearing outside the front door (my room was above) all carried on till 2am on both Sat & Sun mornings. I got home with bad sleep deprivation - not what I would call a restful weekend's stay.
