I concur wholly with the previous statement. The landlady completely flipped (raised voice, very sarcastic, calling us names) when we calmly told her that the plates AND food were cold, that there was a shortage of cutlery AND napkins. In addition, drinks orders were initially wrong, and subsequently forgotten about altogether, condiments came half way through our meal despite asking for them when the meal arrived. Did we not have a right to comment on this? Surely when paying �10 a head for a roast dinner, one should expect a certain standard of service?

Can nobody expect high standards anymore? To be called "a pretentious weirdo" by a landlady is absolutely unacceptable and I am still in shock at her behaviour towards us.

What a waste of time AND money our lunch was last weekend. We went to the Red Lion next door immediately for coffee and were given a very warm welcome to a lovely pub. I just wish we'd gone there for lunch.
