i would like to thank 'the beer tester' for your comments, that means you obviously met one of us as myself and my partner are now running the pub. we have worked hard to clean this place up and make it a comfortable place for all. i do not appreciate the ignorance of some people with ref to the credit card machine, this is something we are waiting on from the bank not so we can steal from ourselves which to us seems rather stupid. we are sorry that previous landlords ruined this pub but all we ask is for a chance to show we are improving things and it is a long hard slog for us. we work very long hours and still smile for our customers. its so nice to read positive reviews but also if there are negative reviews we will always try our best to put things right. this is an extremely old building dating back several hundred years so while we are trying to maintain the character and charm of the building, we have to also consider the 21st century requirements. those that wish to have a nice quiet drink during the week, either holiday makers or locals , everyone receives a warm and friendly welcome even if they dont carry just cash! we are currently addressing any concerns brought to our attention so, if you come in and there is a problem please have the decency to come and talk to either of us and we will do whatever we can to put this right. this is a nice friendly pub and our staff are always polite and friendly and always willing to help, even when its something bad. give us a go and dont judge us on previous owners please
