What a terrible pub! Inadequate staff, awful food.

Visited twice over the bank holiday weekend because of the great location. Didn't see anyone who looked like they had any authority. They wouldn't let us know when a table was free, even though we were only sitting outside (where food service is not possible, maybe the waitresses are scared of ducks?), they had less food available than had ran out of, they ran out of the beer i was drinking, the food arrived quickly after we spent 10 minutes persuading the reluctant waitress into serving us (we even heard the ding of the microwave!), but sadly the food was inedible. Truly awful. We cut our losses and ran! To be fair, the possible Manageress who dealt with cancelling our order dealt with us well in the end and took our feedback constructively, as well as deciding, rightly, not to charge us a penny. This does not, however, go anywhere near making us comfortable to return to this place. It is a great shame that places like this go nowere near their customer's expectations. The Albany doesn't deserve to be busy, if it wasn't on the river it'd be a ghost-town!
