The Freston Boot, Freston

I visited the Freston Boot for lunch in early October 2006. The food and wine were excellent, the service prompt and pleasant and the ladies loos clean and inviting. If business takes me in that direction again I shall have no hesitation in paying another visit to The Boot.

The Mill Arms, Dunbridge

An excellent pub. Staff are polite and attentive without going "o.t.t.". Good menu, well presented food. Pleasant location. Proximity to Dunbridge Station (1 minute!) on Great Western Southampton - Salisbury - Bath - Bristol route has to be emphasised. You can have a few drinks and have no worries about being "pulled over" by the constabulary.

Well worth a visit.

The Sun Inn, Dedham

I visited The Sun for the first time today. This was for lunch. I arrived close to midday and it transpired that this was a good idea. If I had arrived, say, 45 minutes later I would not have been able to find a seat. The place was exceptionally busy. That level of popularity has to say something!

If your appetite is hell-bent upon chips and burgers then don't come here! The menu is imaginatively created around Mediterranean cuisine and has many attractive dishes.

Service is efficient, polite and unobtrusive. Wine list is comprehensive and not expensive.

Ladies loo is pleasant and inviting. Definitely, I shall visit again.
