The Fox Inn, Middle Barton

After visiting the carpenters I thourght it only fair to visit the fox. Even though the pub has recently had a lick of paint - it still looks the same !! The menu is limited and no one seemed to be eating - so we didn't !! I have to be honest the staff were not very friendly and I di not feel comfortable in the dark surroundings - I think it will be a few years before I return and will keep using our local The Carpenters.

The Carpenters Arms, Middle Barton

After our second visit to the newly refurbished carpenters arms - I disagree with the previous comment. This pub has still kept all traditional features and added a lovely oak floor and a carpeted nice restaurant area. There seemed to be lots of lcoals enjoying the new decor and sampling their new spring menu, which was not just based around hot rocks - but has many other choices off the rocks and a daily specials board. The take away fish and chips were simply delicious and great value at 4.95. The landlords are making a real effort with the locals and have already been involved in raising funds for the pre-school and wishes childrens trust. We also went to their first hog roast at the weekend which was attended by 200+ locals - a fantastic evening was had by all. Well done to Andre and Jules who are doing a great job - I look forward to attending the events planned (Mexican evening and Fathers Day) in June.

The Carpenters Arms, Middle Barton

The Carpenters has been through many managers over the last five years, it has now had a nice new re-furbishment. The new owners are here for good. They have spent alot of money with the brewery to create a lovely pub. They have kept the old features and added extra features eg a solid oak floor.
Staff are very welcoming and offer a special 'Hot Rocks Menu' and a daily specials with home cooked sunday roast deal on Sundays. Children are welcome and have a great play area in their lovely garden. Well worth a visit if you have not tried this pub for a while. The food is fabulous.
