The Manor Arms Hotel, Abberley Village

This pub is housed in a smashing building and has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, I have not had the positive experience I was hoping for. On two occasions I went in and had to to wait an excrutiating amount of time to be acknowledged. The young man behind the bar was more preoccupied with chatting over the bar to his mates than to serve any outsiders. Several gentlemen who came in after me were served immediately, locals I assume. I noticed this take place on both occasions and there were other long faces waiting with me to be served. I have never seen anyone take this long to pull me a pint. On the last and final occasion I entered this pub, I went in with my wife and only because she wanted to go somewhere picturesque for tea and I hoped the pub could offer something more, I was once again disappointed. The food was terrible! The pudding was a bit more edible. The staff walked about with a dour expression and the pub landlord seemed to be in a very unhappy mood each time. I have never felt so unwelcomed and have now crossed this pub off my list of favorites.
