The Farmers Glory Inn, Haslingden

I've visited this pub many times during the last few years and always had an excellent meal at a reasonable price with good friendly service
However, I visited in January 2009 for the first time under new management and was very disappointed for a number of reasons:-
* I was unaware the meal would take so long to cook
* the soup was 'cock a leekie' and had a large mass of shredded chicken in the bowl
* the portions of vegetables and roast potatoes were small and some pieces of carrot and parsnip were very hard
* one family member thought his size of steak was small
* the waitress/hostess annoyed all of us by continually addressing us as 'my dahlings' with a very affected accent
There were some good points - the food was beautifully presented, my salmon was in a delicious sauce, (would have liked more of this sauce) and the waiter there when we needed him but not over attentive
The bill was 50% more than we usually paid for a meal in this pub/restaurant but unfortunately the overall quality wasn't
Needless to say I won't be revisiting - I know things change in life but I really preferred the pub the way it used to be
