The Old Granary, Wareham

Visited the Old Granary in early summer, mid-week and had a good meal with good friendly service. Take on board other postings here, especially that weekends must be v. crowded so I would avoid those times. Although Hall & Woodhouse, they have a different menu from other H & W hostelries (World's End, St Peter's Finger etc.) as marketed more 'up-market' (same as the Olive Branch in Wimborne). Great location and no fights (to my knowledge) unlike some pubs in Wareham.

The Halfway Inn, Corfe Castle

Was a favourite of mine as food used to be good and good location, relaxed feel about the place too. Last 3 visits (all this summer) not so good, food poor (even when pub not packed), now the same as several other Hall & Woodhouse pubs so unimaginative. Friendly staff and good service though, as ever.

Worlds End, Almer

Visited recently, good pint of Lemony Cricket and pleasant atmosphere.
Mainly holidaymakers at the moment and menu predictable Hall & Woodhouse
fare, once you've been to one you know what to expect. Halfway Inn at Notton, St. Peter's Finger at Lychett etc exactly the same.
Loyalty scheme heavily advertised at the World's End but cards not available so not a good start.
Pub does well with visitors (large car park and good position) and cheaper than local competition (Botany Bay and particularly Coventry Arms now a 'gastropub', according to the pub anyway.)
