The Temple Inn, Temple Cloud

We stayed at the guest house opposite Temple Inn and spent four nights drinking in the pub. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would tend to agree with the write up by Elizabeth rather than Blackthorn.
The banner that they both refer to has now gone but it was confirmed by the new owners that it was designed and paid for by the brewery. Regarding the shelf full of trophies that Blackthorn saw, they have been removed as the decoration programme mentioned by Elizabeth continues. We agree with Blackthorns description of the mixture of clientle but unfortunately did not see the man with tattoos on his head. The tattooed man, by the way, is Richard and he is great company so I am told. We did see children, as they enjoyed playing in the secure garden area, as well as the three resident Kune Kune pigs, chickens, chicks and rabbits. The animals are superb entertainment for the children (and my wife).
We had a meal on Friday afternoon, Saturday evening and again Sunday lunch and found all meals to be agreeable. At the moment Temple finish serving at 9pm which could be why Blackthorn did not see anyone eating. I presume Blackthorn visited later in the evening as I was informed that Richard does not generally frequent the premises early doors.
There where 11 drinks available during our stay, 2 real ales, 3 ciders, 4 lagers, John Smiths Bitter and of course Guinness.
As for wine, the top of the left hand fridge was stocked with the White Zinfandel (hope the spelling is correct) Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc and the choice of reds included Merlot and Shiraz. As Blackthorn correctly points out, they are individual bottles of 187ml which, as a wine drinker, I think is a superb idea as I have been in many a bar with a cheap box of white or even a bottle of red that has been open for weeks.
Not sure if I would go as far as Elizabeths comments about the Temple Inn being a credit to the pub industry but would say that we would highly recommend and have no complaints at all.
As a footnote, I would have to say the any reviews prior to Elizabeths should really be disregarded as the current owners only took over the reigns in January 2011.
