The Golden Galleon, Exceat

I went to this pub for lunch with a friend on Friday 29th June. Having read the other reviews on this site, I arrived with some trepidation but was encouraged because dogs are allowed in the bar. The staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming. Three of them went out of their way to be polite and hospitable. We ate well - gammon steak, peas, and chips plus a steak sandwich and chips - the food was hot and delicious - all at a a very reasonable price. There were several bowls of water for dogs, a nice touch. Dogs are welcomed - so friendly, so sensible.

(I found this whole experience very cheering after a recent disasterous holiday at The Little Hemingfold Hotel near Battle where my dog and I were made to feel most unwelcome)
