Boat House, Shrewsbury

On the plus side - This is not a �trendy� pub but does have a worn lived in feel like a favourite pair of jeans. The atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious. It�s close to the river and other bars/restaurants if you want to wander on.

The negatives � So far the food is not worth eating (3/07) and it does get very smoky � role on the smoking ban!
Its outside area gets very busy in hot weather and it does suffer a bit when the younger crowds finish school/college in the summer. Sit back and watch the fun!
However, it still one of my favouritesJ

Balham Bowls Club, Balham

It is a shame to post such a negative comment for what could be a nice place. Unfortunately the night (3rd March 2007) was ruined by a male member of staff who had too much beer, was dominant and aggressive as he stood over my wife and I whilst we finished our drinks � yes 100% of the tables were still full � and made some derogatory remark to our backs as we left. Begs the questions why? Well, I was the only person in there with ethnic origins. Work it out for yourself.
