The Boathouse, Putney

We visited the boathouse with a group of 10 friends for what we hoped would be a pleasant pub lunch. The staff seemed helpful enough, however our orders came at inconsistent intervals. Secondly a meal came out that was incorrect (the wrong fish-dish) and the waitress attempted to coerce my friend to take it instead of what he ordered: "it will be a forty minute wait otherwise". Such contempt for the customer to punish them for your mistakes - fish takes a couple of minutes to cook and a pub's screw-up should be rectified first!!!!
ARgh!
Then we complained about the inconsistent serving and screw up and the manager decided to excuse the kitchen for being busy - like a customer cares about the busy-ness of the kitchen. Then he offered nothing to make up for the mistake - and promptly left when he had been of no help and hid from us for the rest of the meal until we left.
I won't be coming back, in fact I will make a point of telling everyone I know not to go there and if I walk past I will mention the sorry experience to anyone walking towards it's doors.
Avoid at all costs until they fire the manager and learn to treat customers nicely
