i am from rochdale,my grandfather used to be the landlord of the george and dragon over 50yrs ago he was called walter gillian ,there used to be a shop at the front belonging to the pub. would anyone remember it from so long ago?

The George and Dragon, West Haddlesey
called to have a pint in the pub the other day ,but unfortunately it was lunchtime and it was shut,i am from rochdale in lancashire ,my grandfather walter gillian used to own the pub about 50 plus years ago,my mother violet worked behind the bar there ,would anyone remember the pub from around that time,? i will hopefully be calling back there in a few weeks,it looks very nice from the outside
