The Hercules Pillars, Holborn

I booked the function room in this pub recenty. The room is a decent size with its own bar. I have to say that the staff were welcoming, attentive - for example the selection of beers, understandably in the function room was limited. This didn't phaze the staff who were willing to go upstairs for whatever was orderd. It is certainly a venue that we will consider using in the future.

The Gunnersbury, Chiswick

The pub was clearly a run down old fashioned affair which has had a makeover with the inclusion of sofa's, hippyish wall hangings etc. A large room houses a stage and the pub does host alternative evenings such as belly dancing. Not a bad selection of beers at the bar and an okay menu including platters for sharing. These are nice, except being rather stingy with the toasted pitta!

The Cock and Lion, Bond Street

Cracking little traditional boozer. Great selection of cask ales and, and long as your not an arse, friendly helpful staff. Great atmosphere when Newcastle Utd is on the TV.
