The Old Hare and Hounds, Rednal

I visited your pub this afteroon with my family. We decided we would like a drink and a sandwich. The pub appeared nice and clean and we were pleased with our find. We had not attended this particular venue before.
My son in law went to the bar and ordered drinks. He was told that we were not allowed to sit inside if we only wanted drinks, ( we had a three year old with us.) My son in law pointed out that the sign outside said, "FAMILIES WELCOME" He was asked again if he was gouing to eat and that unless the baby was eating we couldn't sit inside. Unfortunately my other son had already ordered food for us and had paid or we would not have stayed. It took 25- 30 mins for our coffees to arrive. When the sandwiches turned up, the bread was dry. The Manager was then seen scouring the grounds and taking the sign down saying, "families welcome." We would not have minded if the place had been full and that you were struggling for tables on which people could eat. But the place was nearly empty. I would have thought that in our present climate, he would have been happy with as much custom as he could get and not making people feel unwelcome. We shall not be going back there again!!!!
I would have thought that the way pubs are closing down
