The Sir Roger Titchbourne, Alfold Bars

Today we enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Tichbourne, a party of ten and one member in a wheelchair. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly, the restaurant was lovely and open, airy and clean and all wheelchair accessable. The food was excellent, hot and served on hot plates, everyone enjoyed their meals from crispy tiger prawns, leek and potato soup to the fish and chips, chicken and leek pie, grilled salmon or liver and bacon. A very good choice available on the menu, including delicious deserts, all served quickly and efficiently by the firendly staff. On behalf of the family I would like to thank everyone who made this an excellent lunch and an enjoyable outing - two of our party were from Canada and now go home with happy memories of their visit.

Fox Inn, Rudgwick

I had always heard good things about this pub but it is the second time I have visited and found the staff unwelcoming, unsmiling and very slow at service (if you can call it that). Having read some other reviews here I am pleased that it wasn't just me having expectations too high. The food was ok, the beer batter was actually quite greasy today though, quite expensive for an average meal though. The place lacked atmosphere, perhaps it's better if you are one of the "in" crowd, the girl serving at the bar certainly preferred to talk to someone else rather than me whilst serving. Don't think I will be going back or recommending them. What a shame
