The Castle Inn, Little Birch

Good beer but disappointing food. I had "Crassie Pie" which sounded good but was impregnable - think they should sell their pastry to the army; slightly charred and very very hard it was all too much for just a knife and fork. My wife had the lamb, this was tasteless and slightly tough. Presentation of the food left a lot to be desired - all served together a la school dinners - the once crisp chips dissolved by the gravy. Puds didnt redeen the meal either. Beer was good though - the Moorlands I had was superb, service friendly and efficient, shame about the food

The Cornish Arms, Carbis Bay

Good "real" pub, had Doom Bar and Ruddles County the couple of nights I visited. Friendly banter, good honest food - be hungry, excellent sunday roast.
Live music on the sinday night I was there, 60's/70's covers by two competent guitar players/singers. A place to relax - nothing pretentious, a pub as they used to be.
