The Courtyard, Horwich

I have started to go in the bay horse more and more recently because I have been so impressed by a number of the new initiatives in what used to be a very dated pub and has now developed a pleasant atmosphere.

I find the live bands they have on 2-3 times enjoyable and breaks the monotony of most of the other pubs around.

I found the lunchtime menu both affordable and appetizing (nice to see real chips on the plate rather than oven chips).

After reading some of the earlier comments I would have to make three observations:

1. As for the comment about the hand pumps � I think the Brains they have on is one of the best pints in Horwich.

2. I find it refreshing that the proprietor goes out of his way to occasionally provides free snacks. Not many places would show that kind of hospitality.

3. The complaint about slow service � I have never had a problem and I think anyone who has ever worked in a pub or has any common sense must surely understand that occasionally kegs have to be changed which may take a small amount of time � they aren�t some magic everlasting fountain of nectar.
