I go to pubs as often as possible and enjoy eating and drinking in them. I always use the bus and seek out as many of the real ales as possible. None of my friends enjoy real ales so I find myself having to put up with certain places like the Chichester at Rawreth and the Hawk at Battlesbridge. Frankly, I'd rather go out by myself than put up with this!

I agree with the butchegg that this is now a great pub. The addition of the varying real ales has made a big difference. I've always found the landlord to be very welcoming and keen to talk about his beers and even gave me his forthcoming attractions poster.

The White Hart, Bishopsgate
I've recently started popping in here on the way home and have been very impressed with the food and drink. In the summer the three of us had a meal in the cellar. It was like being in Brussels! Superb! Reasonably priced food and excellent real ales. Noticed recently that the pub seems to have more than it's share of Liverpool types (nothing wrong with that!) and Poundland reps! Worth going to hear the deal of the week!
