O'Neills, St Albans

I'm really dissapointed, I used to love this pub and have been drinking their since the Firkin days. But when I went this weekend there was a distinct lack of atmosphere.
There didn't seem to be any floor service, I saw one girl pour a pint over another, And saw another girl looking for a fight in the toilet, luckily when she did pick a fight the other girl was twice her size and managed to talk some sense into her.
Plus although the bouncers are good they look like their face might crack if they smile, cheer up guys we now it's a hard job but thats what you get paid for.
I've heard there are a number of staff from the Vintry working there now?! Could this be the reason it's gone down hill??
Would love to give it a 10 rating as it was a great place, but will have to say a 5 for now - I'll try it in a few weeks as I'm really rooting for this place.

Waterend Barn, St Albans

I've been in this pub a hand full of times, and yes the toilets are clean, the people freindly and best of all it's non smoking!
The down side if you stay till the late evening the taps don't work in the toilets ... yuck!
I asked the staff and they told me they turn the water off! Don't know if that true or why?? but certainly put me off drinking there after the 3rd time I'd visited and the same thing happened.

Mokoko, St Albans

I'd agree with it being a bar, but it's somewhere different to go for a drink and bite to eat. Good food, a menu that changes with the times and cocktails that have obviously been designed by someone with a good palate.
As St A's a historic town it's nice to have one bar the under 30's can go for a drink without an 18yr old coming on to you or the odd grandad eyeing you up!
