Britannia In, Minehead

A really genuine local pub for local people, but always warmly welcoming visitors. Normally four real ales, including a guest that changes fairly frequently. I like it because I can take my dog and chat with all sorts of people whom I would never normally meet up with at work or doing my other 'things'. Plenty of activities going on, but, not being very interested in sport, I probably don't appreciated the huge Sky TV as much as some of my fellow-drinkers. I only call in two or three times a week, but I'm treated as if I was a daily customer - surely one of the signs of a good 'local' - as it says in the song: 'Everybody knows your name.'
