The Boot and Slipper, Amersham
How disapointing. Firstly despite ring the number for over a week there was no reply. It actually took an email to get a response.
Table booked. On arrival we were shown to a table after one had been cleaned.
Wine order was taken and arrived. So far so good.Evenually our food order was taken. The starters were very nice. Mushrooms & chicken skewers mmmm.
The main course's Venison pie & Mixed Grill. Venison Pie was served with thick
cold gravy!
The mixed grill would have been if it had all the ingredients.
No mushrooms, no lamb chops.
Finally on going to the bar we found a shortage off staff and ran out of beer and they were going elsewhere to get a keg of beer.
I have admired this pub/restaurant for some time but will not be back !!
