The Lamb Inn, Sutton

I ate in this place recently and have now come accross this review site. Very interesting...the in depth, detailed reviews are highly critical where as the 'two liners' are favourable...sounds suspicious to me and I think J. Bean's recent comments: "sounds like the Land Lord to me"-11/4/10 may have an element of truth. I am a trained Barrister and I smell a rat! If this is the case, and I strongly believe it to be, I suggest the Landlord concentrate more on the in depth reviews and making appropriate improvements and less on producing two line responses to counter them. This helps nobody in the long run. As for my visit (Wed. 28th April 2010), all I can say is that I echo the in depth, well thought out comments of; sj32 and J. Bean. The service was shoddy, the meal was bland and the general atmosphere, well, imagine a Mortuary - you get the idea. I will re-visit this establishment in a few months to see if the Land Lord heeds my advice, ie - less two line ripostes and an attention to basics when it comes to service (improved manners), meals (hire a new chef) and hygiene (the toilets were dirty). At this time I recommend that any readers give this place a wide berth. In a few months, and upon my next visit, I will repost a further update in the hope that there are some improvements that I can report upon. I hope that this proves to be the case. D. Bailey.
