Rose Revived, Newbridge

Although this pub has a lovely setting, the service is something else completely. We stopped for lunch whilst on our boat trip up the Thames. It was a lovely day so quite busy. Because of this, we weren't surprised that it was going to take 30 mins for our food to arrive. My partner decided to go back to the boat for something thinking that he had time. He was gone approximately 5 minutes when our food arrived. Needless to say, when he got back, it was stone cold.
On the way back down the Thames we decided to give it another try. We went in for dinner this time and ordered 2 Steaks. We were asked how we liked them done and told the waitress that they should both be medium rare. When the steaks came, they were like shoe leather where they had been cooked too long. When we were asked if everything was ok with the meal I told the waitress that it was not. She went and got the chef and the manager to come to the table. I asked them what the point of asking how we liked our meat prepared was when they clearly didn't listen and did thier own thing with it. They said that they couldn't see anything wrong with them but we could have a cup of coffee on the house. We declined the offer.
It would appear that the pub has been staffed with Eastern Europeans who are only there because they need the money. They do not appear to care about their customers. If we do the trip again, we will definately give this pub a miss!
