Four Horseshoes, Thornham Magna

I understand that this pub has changed hands a few times in the last couple of years, and the quality has been up and down....and this is the problem I have with this website, as I see that the last comment made about the Four Horseshoes was made nearly a year ago. It only takes a couple of negative comments (often from people with an axe to grind, as was the case a while back regarding my local in Ipswich) to put people off going to a particular pub. As all pubs are struggling at the moment, this is just not fair!

I went to the Four Horseshoes on Mother's Day last week with the family, and on a Sunday lunchtime they have the best carvery I have ever experienced. Choice of beef, pork or turkey, a huge selection of FRESH veg (OK the Yorkshire puds were Aunt Bessie's, but that's fine), and delightful, friendly service. The place was packed, as it should be on Mothering Sunday.

I work as a pub chef, and know exactly what sort of work goes into providing this sort of service. Yes some of the starters were of the Brake Brothers variety, but when you're serving this many people, that's entirely forgivable. 10/10. Keep it up guys!!!
