The Greatham Inn, Greatham

I visited this pub with high hopes after hearing it was under new management and shouldn't have bothered! Yes the pub is big, a fact accentuated by the lack of customers, and cold as there was no sign of the afore mentioned log fire. The Forty niner was passable but not great and the landlady was efficient but a bit of character and the ability to hold a conversation is just, if not more as important. To sum it up, the pub is big and cold and the bar staff are lacking personality so the passable beer is not enough to tempt me back to this pub. Now the Selbourne Arms, that's a place to go!
