Ye Olde White Hart, Frimley

A number of colleagues and I visited the new "Ye Olde White Harte" for the first time since its re-opening last night. After stumbling through the litter strewn, now smaller car park, we entered the pub from the rear doors, only to find hey presto ...the pub was identical to its pre-refurb design and layout.
First impressions..."What Refurb ?? "
After making our way to the bar and walking past crowds of "hoodies" drinking merrily in the bar we were challenged by an impolite bar member, who made no effort to welcome us to the "new" pub. Shortly afterwards a 35 year old member of our group was asked to remove his "hooded sweatshirt" as this garment was banned in an "unwritten policy" of the bar. When challenged as to what other "Unwritten policies " may be floating around in the head of the bar manager we were met with threats and impolite service. When challenged if the "Fashion policy" would render it necessary to make a Muslim woman remove her "hijab" ....we were told that "Those kind of people wouldnt come in here " .... With a hostile welcome like the one offered, warm beer, poor service, and dirty toilets, frankly im surprised that anybody, Christian, Muslim, Jew, Hindu or otherwise would bother frequenting this applaiing excuse for a "new" pub.
Hasten to say...we wont be returning !
