The Weavers Arms, Quedgeley

A good pub for the young-uns. Loud and lively. Not so good for us old farts.

The Orchard, Quedgeley

Although i'm told that this pub is a good place to watch sports, it is in a desparate need of a re-vamp. Once a Beefeater restaurant, it has changed hands several times - each one keeping the old Beefeater carpets and decor. My last visit saw some of the carpets held together with gaffer tape and bland, tasteless food. Though I hear that the bar-food fares a little better (burgers etc).

The Bumble Bee, Quedgeley

This pub, although modern-built, has a lot of charm about it. Low ceilings and dark wood furniture, add to the cosy feel. The food was once really very nice with a real home-cooked feel - but it has declined in the past couple of years. A reccent sunday roast, left us feeling very unsatisfied. Three small pieces of meat and cold carrots. A friend also had to complain about a hair found in food, to which the waitress replied 'It's not mine, I haven't got blonde hair!' It's a shame that the food experience doesn't match the atmosphere.

Pilot Inn, Hardwicke

A lovely summer pub for the family (although the play equipment could do with updating/expanding). Sadly lacking in the winter months - especially in the very cold, conservatory. Food is adequate but nothing exceptional.
