The Downtown Cafe, Dunstable

Now reopened as the Four Kings. Only good thing, the beer garden has been closed. Now looks like a small cafe, which surprisingly sells alcohol. No ales though, in fact Fosters is about the best of it!!

Star and Garter, Dunstable

One of the few "proper" locals' pub in the town. Good beer.

The Saracens Head, Dunstable

Used to be great. (See Old Sugarloaf) now run down with chavs and hooligans with no shirts on swearing at the top of their drunken voices at the football on the tv. Ale is very poor, cheap wine is expensive. Only go in if you drink lager and you don't have a lady with you.

The Old Sugar Loaf, Dunstable

Shame. Used to be a great pub in the 50s right up to the 80s. Went downhill rapidly when refurbished a few years ago. Change of management and morons behind the bar. Can only agree with all the negative comments. Yes I am embarassed!

The Halfway House, Dunstable

Not really a pub, more a restaurant with a bar as an afterthought. Plastic atmosphere and be prepared to wait for a while before getting served as all barstaff move at a snail's pace.

Froth and Elbow, Dunstable

Good, "proper" locals' pub. One of the few in town. A little expensive though.

The First and Last, Dunstable

Used to offer Greene King but now offers no ales at all. Too difficult to look after them. The John Smith's is a replacement!
