The Queens Head Inn, Broad Chalke

It's ok, not fantastic. The beer is drinkable and the food edible. They have a good warm stove for cold evenings which is a nice touch. It is one of the few places to stay in the area which could result in the rooms being awful, but they aren't, so they must be at least trying.

Duffy's, North Ealing

I was persuaded to try Duffy's again to get something to eat and was very pleasantly surprised! The meal I had was excellent and the manager is like a different person in the dining area, he was actually friendly. Still not convinced it's a place I would chose to go for a pint or two, the locals are still not the friendliest, but maybe there is room for hope?

Red Lion, Ealing

Great wee pub, good beers and friendly staff with tables outside for when it's sunny, what more could you want. One of my favourite pubs in Ealing.

Duffy's, North Ealing

Dead unfriendly place, if it was a film set the piano player would stop as you enter. OK selection of beers, but the locals and staff act as if they are in a competition to see who can be the most offhand with newcomers. The locals usually win, just. There are far better pubs in Ealing than this dismal dump.
