The Parrot, Canterbury

A really lovely pu with a good selection of real ale. Great atmosphere and the place was full of friendly characters. The only problem with it really is that it is about sixty miles too far away from my home. Otherwise I would be there all of the time.

The Pembury Tavern, Hackney

We visited again on Saturday night and I am very pleased to say the place was full, every table taken. We had a very wonderful Ploughman's with Neal's Yard Dairy cheeses and some of the best chips I have had in years. Oh yeah, and the beer wasn't bad wither.

The grand opening party on Saturday was fantastic. I was most impressed by the Tring Pudding Porter, but all the beers I tried went down extremely well. Congratulations to Steve and all the staff.

The Cat's Back, Wandsworth

The atmosphere in the pub is great. There was a selection of four real ales on, and the two I sampled were very tasty. Definitely worth going back to.

The Front Room, Wandsworth

This is the worst pub I have been to in a very long time. The Budvar tasted awful and I could not even finish it. Clearly they do not keep their pipes clean. The music (not to my taste I have to admit) was so loud that I struggles to have a conversation with the people on the other side of the table. Should have stayed in the Young's pub with the braying masses. This place was nearly empty and obviously there was a reason why.

I visited the pub for the first time last night. A very impressive bank of hand pumps. The Jack O'Legs by Tring was my pick of the evening. It seems perfectly suited to beer festivals and it would be wonderful to see it crammed full of people. My only very slight negative comment is that I would have chosen a darken colour for the walls. The light colour makes the place appear vast and a bit too bright.
