The Bees in the Wall, Whittlesford

If the landlord of this pub is Mr L. Childs... I knew him over 30 years ago..
Top man. . . .. Mr Redwood....

The Gate, Chorleywood

Sorry ..... Not a pub!....
Its a restaurant that has a bar ...
And full of pretentious loud people...

The food is bog standard and expensive for what it is.....

On the up side ....

I do enjoy watching deluded people think because their bill is £££ there in a posh West End restaurant..

If you like pizza and pasta and want to pay through the nose for it!
Only my opinion though.

The Old Shepherd, Rickmansworth

The reviews of this pub are very outdated....

Yes ... This pub ( like all pubs) has had its ups and downs..
But right now it's on the up ....
Thanks to the new landlord..
Yes ... In the past it had a few lows but even then I was never as lucky as Lucywillow... In all the times I walked past I was never ogled at by white van man (or any colour come to that)..

Maybe I don't have the same appeal..
But I digress...
As I said this pub is on the up!
The food is fantastic ! Forget your brake Bros frozen preprepared meals..
The food here is fresh and you can tell the difference.
A great selection of well kept real ales and premium lagers and all at realistic
Prices....

So don't be put off by old outdated reviews!
See for yourself.

The Black Horse, Chorleywood

Doing the Chess valley walk last Sunday and decided to duck into this pub just before the heaven's opened....

I stayed and and had one of the best Sunday roast dinners I have had for a long time..
I noticed that in the evening the were hosting a music event so I took my time hoping to see abit...
Well what can I say !!!!

I'm a music fan anyway but what a night...
The pub slowly filled up and the atmosphere changed from a lovely dinning country pub to a full on live music night .....

I asked behind the bar if this was a normal evening and was told that the pub was home to the Chorleywood open mic night and it takes place once a month..

This pub is a knock out ,

The ales were well kept and believe me you can't knock the food.

If it had not rained I would have missed this pub entirely....
Also dog friendly......

What more could you ask......
