Fantastic food, but still drinker friendly, I just wish it was easier to get to!

The Hen and Chickens, Islington
Really quite this place met up with a very large group of friends (50 ish). The staff coped brilliantly, the food was lovely, and the candles gave a really nice feel to the place.
The gents are basic, but clean, the ladies apparently have some very interesting artwork!

If you only come to Reading once, have a meal here, fantastic food with a damn good pint. An institution that should be treasured.

The new guys are doing well as far as I can see. The beer is top notch, and the food was spot on. Nothing bad to say about the place.

Fantastic little two bar pub. Good beer, good company, and very well run. A must on any visit to Reading

I would like to thank everyone for their great support, and usually very fair reviews.
I would also like to reassure you that the new manager will be a very familiar face - I very much hope that the pub goes from strength to strength, and the new manager gets the same support that everyone gave me.
