Angel, Swanton Morley

This is a charming hostelry set in the heart of Norfolk, about three miles from Dereham. Peter and Avril ensure a friendly welcome to all visitors.
There are beer festivals held at The Angel on a twice yearly basis: Easter and November, when a wide range of beers and ciders are available.
I've seen some good bands at The Angel too, including Polaris and The Rockin' Johnnies.
Check it out!

The Cottage Freehouse, Norwich

I visited this pub recently for the first time.

I was very impressed by the friendliness and atmosphere of the place. I noted that they serve very tasty bar meals at reasonable prices and have an excellent array of real ales - at least half a dozen to choose from.

The Cottage is gaining a reputation for good "live" music. I caught "Polaris" on my visit - an excellent band playing 60s music and rock 'n' roll.

This pub is well worth checking out!

Yates's, Norwich

My wife and I have been regular patrons during the day and have been more than happy. However, we were recently visiting Norwich to go to the theatre with our 15 year old son (at around 6PM on a Tuesday) and we were promptly told that we would not be welcome - even though we were intending to have a sit-down meal.
Apparently nobody under the age of 18 is allowed in the place after 5PM. It was highly embarassing for all of us. What a ludicrous policy to adopt! We ended up eating in a nearby restaurant.
