Nice pub, the beer is well kept, the food is good (but not as good as they think it is) and the staff vary from pleasant to positively surly.

This is our lunch pub on the way to Cornwall. The first time we visited, it took ages to find, the directions in the AA pub guide were particularly bad. It was well worth the effort though, the cask ales leading to a change of driver for the afternoon shift ;)
Food was OK, much better than stopping on the motorway, the location is glorious, our dog loves it.

I have many happy memories of visiting this pub on hot summer evenings after a days Archery at Dunster castle. We would all poor into the pub, order our 'pockets' and sit straightening arrows late into the night.
It may have changed now, but the food, especially the pitta pockets, was great value for money and the treacle pudding outstanding.

The Crystal Palace Tavern, Bath
Great place for a bite of lunch when shopping in Bath. Shame the smoking ban has been removed.
