DING DONG THE WHICH IS DEAD!!! that horrable landlady has finally been got rid of. great place to go now. good atmosphere, nice loccals. good look to the new guys. not shaw about harp larger tho.

i dont normally respond to other peoples pub reviews, but if 'peakresident' is realy a resident of the peak district, then im good looking!!!
how meany contery pubs do you no in farming communitys that dont allow dogs? NONE! i dont like dogs myself, but i'd sooner have a 'horrable stinking dog' in my pub than a hipacritical townie!!
by the way, i no my spelling is pants.

what a cracking little pub. The Cheshire cheese is now under new management. I and all my staff welcome the new landlord and landlady to there new business venture. i shal be popping in from time to time.

i used to work at this pub. but i have diferent memories than the rest of the staff that i recognise on this paige. i was once told by my superviser (who stil works there today) that my til was down by �20. i was told to make it ballence by the end of my shift. when i asked how, she replyed "short change everyone, if the till is up, we get a better bonus." i also remember going to take some food out one day. the cook went to pass me the meal and droped the steak on the floor. he imedietley picked it up of the floor, dusted it down and tryed to serve it. i was then given disiplinery action for refusing to take the order out.this about summs up how that pub is ran. all the staff from thiese horror stories are stil there. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

HI FOLKS. Rick the Landlord here. thanks for all your ace comments so far. Its been a long six months but i think its turning into a great place to eat out or just injoy a couple of pints with the family. The new no swareing policy realy works, and the introduction of 55 single malts behind the bar seem very popular. The new tea rooms are now open so i sugest you try the full derbyshire breckfast when your next in the aria. So far between me and the brewery �85,000 has been spent. Work has now finnishd til april, when we will be having new lighting and signage outside.
