The Crown Inn, Wentnor

This is a very good village pub serving very well kept beers (mainly local)and good quality home made food.Nice to see seasonal local dishes such as pheasant.A very good place to end up after a nice walk in the nearby hills or a cycle ride.Much to recommend it,not least the friendly and efficient service.

The Three Tuns, Bishops Castle

For some not the pub it once was but still very good. The beer is good ,mostly pale in colour. The staff are efficient and generally friendly.Overall the food is good .This place never lets you down and sometimes hits some highs.Check out the Friday happy hour (5 to 7) with complementary sausage and chips.

The Six Bells, Bishops Castle

A well known and highly regarded pub amongst real ale fans. The beer is excellent, although with a strong bias to the lighter golden hues.I would like to see a few more dark or ruby coloured ales but I am being slightly fussy. The welcome from behind the bar and from the locals is second to none. The food is also scores well with home made bread ,good veggie options and lovely Gloucester Old Spot sausages and mash.Nev also makes a mean curry, watch out for the Goat curry.Quite simply the best all round pub in town .

The Boars Head, Bishops Castle

A surprisingly popular pub given the competition in a town of good to great pubs. Its not a bad pub but is only average on all fronts, notably the quality/variety of real ale and the quality of food.Pop in for one if on a town crawl but save your energy and money for the others.
