Rack of Ale, Dover

Open only a Year and a roaring success. Dover's 1st Micropub and already winner of Kent Cider pub of the Year 2014 and in the good beer guide. No flattery needed, see for yourselves how good this place and the ales are.

The Eight Bells, Dover

Everyone bashes 'Spoons houses, and I freely admit, with often very good reason! However, it is the beer that is the most important factor and to be fair, it's not bad here. Naturally it doesn't compensate for the shite surroundings, the chavvy scum that frequent the place who are usually pissed by 1pm and the dreary atmos. that pervades the place. Still, we all know what to expect from these places.

Prince Of Wales, Covent Garden

I was in this pub a few months ago. The decor wasn't bad and the barmaid was quick and attentive. So far so good. The only thing that lets this place down is the overpriced shite beer, a pint of Landlord at 3.44 that was truly cack, got a couple of mouthfuls down and had to leave it before I regurgitated said mouthfuls over the bar. My friend and I didn't even bother to complain as, having read other reviews previously, that would have got us nowhere fast. Go to the O'Neills or Hercules Pillars if you want a decent pint. If you like drinking the contents of a horse trough this is for you.

The Louis Armstrong, Dover

Possibily still THE Pub for live music in the area, although a few contenders for this title are in the frame, notably The Park Inn and The Boars Head. The beer is almost always very good, Scrimshander being the one I would go for everytime. A variation of live music at the weekends provides excellent entertainment and Jackie the Landlady is always on hand to welcome the customers. A real Dover landmark this place and if you have never been, especially at weekends, give it a go.

The Park Inn, Dover

A nice friendly Pub with excellently kept beer, a good range with Woodford Wherry (lovely pint if you have never tried it,) Spitfire and a guest ale. Peter and Mandy keep the place neat and tidy and undesirable-free, well worth a visit if you have never been.

The Prince Albert, Dover

Great pint of Abbot on offer at 2.70 now, well kept and tasty. Steve the Landlord bent over backwards to accomodate people on Remembrance Sunday with coffee or someting stronger, a true Gent.

Blakes, Dover

Well that is me told then! Apologies if I offended anyone with my posts but I rather like the "Little Englander" crowd, if there were more of them about the Country wouldn't be in such shite order. And when I meant "a certain Class" I was alluding to those of us that have more than 2 brain cells to rub together, rather than those that think a great night out is to quoff as much lager and shots they can cram down their necks in the shortest possible time and then smash someone's face in, usually an innocent bystander. Pardon me for not subscribing to that.

The Sir John Falstaff, Dover

An absolute shite hole for the scum of Town. The oafs that use it were fighting outside on it's second day after re-opening. Right across from the cop shop, what stars. Wouldn't drink in there ever again if it was the last place serving beer in Town.

Blakes, Dover

One of the places I (very) regularly use and would thoroughly recommend to anyone who seeks a perfect pint. Peter and Kathryn, the proprietors, make every effort to keep standards impeccably high. The main pint is Harvey's straight from the barrel, which is always sublime, and then 3 guest ales, at least one of which is a local Kentish Ale.
The last comment is unfortunate, this is a discerning place for discerning people of a certain class and outlook and attracts a like-minded, repectable clientele who go for the beer and each other's company. Loud and brash Fosters drinkers, please stay away!
