The Exeter Arms, Derby

Good ales and loads of character. Recommended!

The Abbey, Derby

A great place to pop into after a stroll through Darley Park. Historic setting, child and pet friendly, nice atmosphere, good ale, friendly staff and prices from about ten years ago. Marvellous!

The Broadway, Derby

My last visit was when going for a Sunday afternoon bite to eat with a couple of friends, my wife and our new baby, who at the time was just a few weeks old. Signs were not clear that children were not welcome ( a small plaque behind the door). The barman was quite rude, telling us we could only sit outside; on a cold autumn day, and a long walk from anywhere else that does food.
I can understand them not wanting children in there, but on a Sunday afternoon, with a newborn who sleeps most of the time, is not the same as toddlers running about. Disappointed with the unwelcoming reception.
