The Eastfield Hotel, Southsea

Closed again for refurbishment. Hopefully it might stay open a bit longer this time.

The Eastfield Hotel, Southsea

Popped in last evening to see how it was going. Only punter in there. Still only London Pride. Very sparse. No optics in the lounge bar...?? Not exactly the thriving corner local it used to be. Very sad.

The Bridge, Topsham

An absolute gem of a pub!!! Got there at 12 Sunday lunchtime just to see what it was like. 2 hours later had to prise ourselves away from the fire and the banter because of the 1914 opening times. Returned 5 hours later. Magic place!!! Beautifully kept beers. Branoc very nice as was Dark Ness. Word to the wise. If you're a lager drinker go somewhere else ;-)

The Old Inn, Mullion

Just spent 2 lovely weeks in Mullion and used this as our "local". It's apparently under new management but not sure since when. Found it an excellent, welcoming pub. Good beer and very friendly staff. On our 3rd visit I realised they had jugs so asked for my pint in one. From then on as we walked in the barman automatically went for a jug. We were treated as locals. Food may not be vast in its range but the time we ate in there it was very good.

Crown and Anchor Inn, Holy Island of Lindisfarne

An excellent pub. We were staying self catering on Lindisfarne. From the first time we walked into the Crown and Anchor it was like it had always been our local. Keith, Rachel, Phil, Steve, Ingrid and all the other staff are very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere in the bar is very cozy. There's a choice of 3 local real ales all of which are kept in excellent condition and are reasonably priced. The food is just a bit more than your normal pub food and is very tasty. Lovely big garden with stunning views over the harbour towards the castle. This pub is children and dog friendly.

(Please remember to wipe your feet, they've just had a new carpet laid :-)

The Alma Arms, Southsea

The being done up bit is more a work in progress. Landlord has plans for how he wants the place to look and is getting there with minimal disturbance to the locals.
A good, basic, friendly pub. Serves the best pint of London Pride I know.
Good sized back garden area.
One the most comprehensive juke boxes I've every come across if you like music with your pint.

The Ship Inn, Narborough

This is now a Cantonese Chinese Restaurant. There is a small non eating seating area only. With a dart board?? Not sure if that was just for decor. Was hoping just for a pint or three so didn't stay. Food did look good though and everyone seemed happy.
Typical small selection of keg beers and lagers.

The Sir Loin Of Beef, Southsea

An excellent pub. Good variety of beers at reasonable prices. Always at least 2 "session" beers. Never had a bad pint. They usually spot it and warn you first. A couple of regular beers but there's always something different to try. Good range of Belgian bottled beers if you like them. Seems to be starting monthly beer festivals featuring a specific brewery.
