The Andover Arms, Hammersmith

good traditional pub.

The Duke of Sussex, Chiswick

The current rating (3.5) does not reflect the quality of this pub. I have been here several times now and have been pretty impressed on each visit. The service was good and the food too; my boyfriend enjoyed the black sheep as well!

Great beer garden, and beautiful dining room.

Highly recommended.

The Anglesea Arms, Hammersmith

turned up having not booked so no problem waiting. Was extremely crowded (sunday afternoon). Food expensive, and not great. Had roast rib for main, This was actually several slices of beef (piles of the stuff), which was fatty (and cold), roast potatoes were like bullets and yorkshire pud was burnt. A dissapointing experience based on the reputation and price of a main (16). One of us had the mallard which was a tiny portion in contrast but went down well - no vegetables though.

For a sunday afternoon there was a somewhat random menu (some might say pretentious) of mallard pints of prawns and whole crab. What does one need to do to get a normal Sunday lunch???

Would go here again for drinks but not food.
