This was once one of Roger Protz's best 25 pubs in the country.
Somebody in the pub knew how to keep real ale then...

One of the best pubs in Faversham. A good selection of well kept beers including the offerings from Shep's micro brewery.
Very good food but only at lunch time, about the best value in town.

A pleasant pub but not as good as it is hyped up to be. Beer is a bit hit and miss, never bad but rarely excellent.

Very pleasant pint of Shepherd Neame master brew. Now also keeps cask Bishops Finger. Very friendly pub. Only major football matches shown on TV. Still has seperate saloon bar and very large garden.
Well worth a visit for a good pint and a friendly welcome.

Recently refurbed but soon reverted back to a dive.
Good place for a fight at the weekend other than that very little going for it.

Great selection of well kept beers.
Not open during the day weekdays. This pub and the Crown just up the road make venturing this side of the tracks well worth it.

This pub has just changed hands yet again. The new people look like they may get it right this time.
Beer fine food menu in its infancy but well worth a visit.

Beer is a bit hit and miss.
Perhaps not really a good pub to put wide screen TVs in and the trade would be better just on its character.
Generally good staff good beer...

Beer OK bar food OK.
A bit expensive and no atmosphere.
At the end of the day a typical brewery managed pub.

The Shipwrights Arms, Faversham
Given the beer is straight out of the barrel it is very good. Food...not so good, nothing wrong with it if you like it presented as if it was in a shared all male student house.
A pub to go with your mates; if you think you can have any chance of impressing the girlfriend or misses with the food here to let you off driving home forget it.

The Swan and Harlequin, Faversham
Dodgy football in the closed period and dodgy tasting beer.

Beer tends to be OK rather than excellent. A long way from the town but well worth walk.

The Duke Of Cumberland Hotel, Whitstable
Tries hard to be Scruffy Chic pub. But only achieves to be filthy S*** pub. While it does still manage to book some very good bands the place is filthy for a food venue. The beer is close to vinegar and the staff and management couldn't give a fig.
Fine if you are there to watch the band but if you want a decent pint walk across the road the Navel Reserve or up the street to the Ship Centurion.
