The place seems to have had a make over and now it's a rather smooth eating establishment, quite up-market and not a drinkers pub. The people were reasonably OK but it was obvious that they wanted us to order food which seemed to be quite highly priced

The Fox and Hounds, Castle Bytham
Cracking little no-nonsense pub with several well kept real ales and good pub grub (February 2011) at reasonable prices. Pub quiz first Sunday in the month. Friday is a locals session night! You must try the Sunday lunch.

Excellent pub with frequent changes of real ale, always fresh and well kept. Roaring fire in Winter and dog friendly. The local cider, Jollydale, is highly recommended. Imaginative menu of good food, reasonably priced. Folk music night is last Sunday evening of the month. Not open lunchtime during the week.

The Castle Inn, Castle Bytham
Still the best pub in town. Warm & cosy in the Winter thanks to the two AGA type stoves, and the best chips for miles.
