The Eel Pie, Twickenham

Not good.
Service very slow even though we were the only customers!
Only two vegetarian dishes on menu both boring. I ordered liguini but after waiting 15 minutes was told it wasn't available. We didn't have time to go elsewhere so I had the salad, I like salad but this one was boring.
Paint peeling off wall.
Won't go there again.

The Barley Mow, Oakley

It's good news that the present landlords of the BARLEY MOW are leaving, the place is a dump under their management.
Oakley parish Council say under Village Vision that people are requesting somewhere good to eat in Oakley. The Barley Mow under GOOD management could be the place.

The Barley Mow, Oakley

Awful!
Landlady sitting eating a bar of chocolate.
Flashing fruit machines.
This pub. could be so nice under a good landlord and landlady--it is in an excellent location in the centre of an affluent village --people could walk there and walk home if good food was served in a pleasant atmosphere.
It is such a waste as it is .
Where is an entroproneur for this sadly neglected pub.?

The Hogget, Hook Common

Unfortunately this old pub. has been renamed The Hoggett!!
What a GHASTLY name!
It has been the Dorchester Arms for a long time --there is an old photograph in the foyer which must be at least 100 years old and it is clearly named in the photo. as The Dorchester Arms.
Why on earth did the new owners want to change the name?
The Dorchester Arms sounds classy--The Hoggett sounds rough.
Has the local history society complained about this change of name? They ought to!
I won't be going there unless the name is changed back.

Red Lion, Overton

Nice dining room but only ONE vegetarian dish on extensive menu.!

When my one and only veggie dish arrived it was luke warm and the portion small --- my appetite isn't huge but could have eaten more.

Bread roll OK but butter hard as a rock--how does one spread rock hard butter?

The Oak Inn, Lyndhurst

Very nice country pub. and really busy when we visited.
Good vegetarian food -- even offered vegetarian herb cakes which were in addition to general menu.
Good quality salad -- really green, helpfu; staff.
Will definately visit again.

The Purefoy Arms, Preston Candover

Very nice country pub., pleasant people & excellent coffee however vegetarian menu non-existent!
We only stayed because we felt tired--chef did whip up a vegetable/rice stir fry but this was Sunday lunch!
Where was the nut roast, Quorn or at least veggie sausages?
These foods are so very easy to store in a freezer it beggars belief that NOTHING veggie was on the menu.
A vegetarian doesn't want to be offered an omelette for Sunday lunch!
Why would anyone assume that a vegetarian doesn't enjoy a Sunday roast?
As one who eats out in pubs. up and down the country quite a lot I think this must be the only pub. in Britain that has no vegetarian dish on offer at all.
