Bread and Roses, Clapham

Workers' Ale (undrinkable) and Spitfire (passable) were the only real ales on offer in this alleged "Workers' Pub".
This is, in fact, most emphatically a "Yuppy Themed Pub". Brass and plastic; expensive lager and alcopops; aloof staff and vomit-inducing decor. If they are your "thing", you'll be at home here.
Didn't try the food, but it appeared rather pricey.

The Canton Arms, South Lambeth

Food is reasonable but not outstanding. 6.95 for a pretty basic bangers and mash is a bit steep in my opinion.

The Priory Arms, Stockwell

Numerous contributors to this board have commented on the friendly atmosphere, the good value food, the excellent range of well-kept beers, etc. All perfectly true.

Unfortunately, success has had its downside. The Priory has won a number of awards, including CAMRA's South London Pub of the Year, but they now seem to be trying to cash in on their good reputation. 2.55 for a pint of ordinary bitter in this area really is a bit over the top!

Goose, Bloomsbury

For my first visit, I arranged to meet a few friends in the upstairs bar. When I arrived at 7 p.m. on a busy Friday evening, there was just one barperson on duty upstairs. What with his laid back (more flash than substance) style of bartending and a room heaving with thirsty punters, it took all of twenty minutes to get served!

I ran a credit card tab and when settling up time came, I was invited to sign for 16.45 when the detailed bill showed an expenditure of 14.65 !!

Scam or genuine mistake? I'm still not sure, but it took them ten minutes to sort out.

Two more points: this is yet another pub that has not heard of 'drinking up time'; and, although they have a real draught bitter in the downstairs bar, they don't seem able to connect it to the handpump in the upstairs bar.
