The Famous Royal Oak, Muswell Hill

A wonderful 'off the beaten track' pub with good service and a great quiz every Thursday. Would like to see some more guest ales on from time to time but all in all a lovely local.

The Harringay Arms, Crouch End

Very sorry to see Sheila & Jim go but it seems these new guys have got the feel of the place just right. It's still a great pub and I like the tweaks. Thumbs up!

I cannot understand why joffle finds oversized ale glasses annoying. As a member of CAMRA I have campaigned for many years for a fair pint of beer and this is an ideal way of getting your fair pint. Good on the Three Compasses for thinking of the customer and not just the profit!!

Absolutely agree with the comments by David 68. This is a great pub that does it's best to please most of the people most of the time and that's good enough for me! Go in and judge for yourself - you won't be disappointed. The staff are friendly and the roasts are well worth their price.

This is a great pub. It's been my regular haunt for a couple of years now and it just can't be beat around this area. The staff are always friendly and helpful and fun and there's always something going on there. If your looking for a well run, friendly, fun pub then this is it.

The Hornsey Tavern, Hornsey

This pub looks nice and welcoming from the outside but how wrong can you be - I recommend looking is all you do. Both staff and customers alike are as unfriendly as they come. No decent bitter or wine.

Still love this pub! I was down there for the Ally Pally fireworks recently - a very busy night but I was served quickly and efficiently and with a smile. What more could you ask for?

The Hope and Anchor, Hornsey

Did you know this pub has a lovely beer garden hidden out back? I only discovered this recently and it was a lovely surprise. Its a friendly place but I stay away on football days as it gets a bit crowded - good atmosphere for footy fans though! Toilets need a bit of a scrub up but on the whole its a good pub.

As a regular customer of this pub, I have to strongly disagree with "binaroundtheblockabit". I think the staff are the friendliest I've ever come across (and I've come across a few). I've eaten there at the weekends and the food was excellent - strongly recommend the Sunday lunch - its reasonably priced and really good! As a non football fan I sit in the front when footy is on and wouldn't even know it was there (except for the cheers when a goal is scored).
The customers there are all friendly and welcoming too. Its a great place to go for a quiet drink and read of the newspaper or a good night out with my friends - a lot of whom I met there!
Its only fault for me is that its not closer to my home!
