The Market Tavern, Lewisham

never actually ventured into this bar, so all i know is what i've gathered from others i know who have, as far as i can tell, if you're bored and feel like the only thing that can releive said boredom is hurling your fists into someone elses face, this place seems to be the best bar in lewisham to find an obliging person.

The Goldsmiths Tavern, New Cross

I use this place predominantly to have a laugh and relax after work, I'm a barman so dont normally finish till midnightish, so i love the place for the very fact that they're still open midweek. The bouncers actually seem fairly pleasant to me. I dont know their names or anything but they've always appeared willing to smile back when smiled at.
The music can be a bit loud, especially as theres not always that many people on the dance floor (except of course for the lone crazy guy (dont worry, private joke)).

The Amersham Arms, New Cross

thursday nights here are some of the best to be had in se london. The live impromptu jazz/bluesy stuff is well worth the three quid, the staff are a great laugh, ended up dancing with some last week. Always meet some very interesting characters.

The Devonshire Arms, Camden

haven't been here in a while now, dont work up in camden anymore, but this was always my refuge from the outside world, I was never especially gothy; growing up with the punks kind of sorted that out for me, but after finishing a long hard day of holding a bloody sign on the high street it was nice to have a pentagram drawn in my guinness.

Dylan's, Lewisham

not entirely sure what the last guy was on about, I actually think this place is farely quaint. The staff are friendly, landlords a good laugh, and the beer's not overpriced.
